FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything we're most often asked - if your question isn't here, just get in touch.
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm, and alternate Saturdays 10am to 5pm. Outside these hours, it’s by appointment only - see our Contact page for full details.
Do I need to know my prescription when visiting?
If you're an existing customer, don't worry - your prescription is kept on file, so there's no need to remember it. If you don't have a current, valid prescription, you'll need an eye examination first - our sister practice, The Eye Clinic at Rondels, is right here on site and can help with that before you come to us for your glasses.
Do you reglaze existing frames?
Yes - if you'd like to keep a frame you already own, we can fit it with new prescription lenses. This is subject to a service charge, plus the cost of the lenses themselves.
Do you keep small frames for small faces?
Yes - we stock over 3,000 frames in every size, shape and colour, so there's a genuinely wide choice whatever your face shape, including smaller fits.
How long will my new glasses take?
Often much less time than you'd think - our own in-house glazing lab can produce glasses in many prescriptions within an hour, Monday to Friday, rather than waiting weeks for an outside lab. Some prescriptions and specialist lenses do take longer, and we'll always let you know at the time.
Do you do sports glasses, safety glasses, or prescription swimming or ski goggles?
Yes - alongside everyday frames we offer speciality eyewear made to your prescription, including shooting spectacles, prescription diving masks, and swimming and snow-ski goggles. See our Accessories & Speciality Eyewear page for the full range.
Can I get more than one pair for less?
Yes - our 3 for 2 offer applies across the whole frame range (buy three pairs, and the cheapest frame and cheapest lenses are free), and we also have a two-pairs-for-£99 offer on single vision glasses from our budget range. See our Offers page for full details.
Do you have offers for children?
Yes - our Kids 2 for 1 offer runs up to the wearer's 18th birthday: buy two frames with prescription lenses (one frame £59 or more) and the cheapest frame and cheapest lenses are free.
Will I be suitable for contact lenses?
A contact lens suitability assessment is carried out by our sister practice, The Eye Clinic at Rondels, as part of a contact lens fitting - see eyecare.je to book one. Once you have a current contact lens prescription, we’re always happy to help with ordering and stock here.
Do I still need glasses if I wear contact lenses?
Yes - we always recommend keeping an up-to-date pair of glasses as a backup, for whenever you're temporarily unable to wear your contact lenses.
I've run out of contact lenses - can you help?
Of course - we keep a wide range in stock, so call or come into the practice and we’ll get you sorted with your next supply. You can also order online anytime at contactlenses.je.
I've lost my glasses - can you help?
Of course - if you're an existing customer we'll already have your prescription on file, so just come in, choose a new frame, and we'll get a replacement pair made up - often within the hour, thanks to our in-house glazing lab.
I'm worried about an eye problem - can you help?
As a showroom we don’t diagnose or treat eye problems ourselves - that’s a job for our sister practice, The Eye Clinic at Rondels, right here on site. See eyecare.je to get seen quickly.
How do I book an appointment?
You can book online, or call or email the practice directly - see our Book an Appointment page.
